WHY I WROTE "GAMBLING ON GRANOLA"
This book exposes my lack of business experience and my tendency to trust too easily. It also demonstrates that by staying true to our values, our goals can be achieved.
My experiences make clear the importance of forgiveness, the power of intention, and belief in ourselves.
The road can be bumpy and full of obstacles, but if we stay true to ourselves, we can turn our dreams into reality.
I believe we all have callings. Inspiration comes in, unexpectedly, and often in ways that don’t fit into the way we have been living our lives. We gain awareness that we can do something different, forge a new path, take a risk, and see what might happen.
Many people ignore their dreams - they believe them to be frivolous, unreachable, or precarious. My story’s purpose is to encourage others to believe in themselves and follow their inspirations. Obstacles are bound to appear, but as my story demonstrates, they are part of the journey. By sharing my naiveté and vulnerability, as well as my tenacity, readers will gain confidence that success is always possible.
Raising my daughter and growing my business were very different priorities, and they often clashed. By sharing what I learned – about myself, my role as a mother, and running a company – others will learn that it is possible to take care of others while we simultaneously achieve our own goals.
My stories are humorous, touching, inspirational, and educational. They demonstrate that knowledge is gained by making mistakes. My book will inspire people to examine their values, clarify their goals, take a leap of faith, and find forgiveness, both for others and for themselves.
Starting my company allowed me a fresh start, and a new challenge. Although I had no idea what lay ahead, I believed all would be okay and that I was doing the right thing. Holding that belief allowed me to stay focused. My formula can work for anyone who is determined to turn a vision into reality.
